Just Quilt It (You are here.)

I was an avid reader growing up, and I loved the Nancy Drew mysteries.  I knew I wanted to be part of this hop when it was first announced.  My project is a notebook cover, and I loved the way it turned out!

I purchased a charm pack for this project.  I sewed 2 together to make the row of books at the top.  I used the exploding pineapple pattern for the bottom--we had just learned this technique at my quilt club.

Inside, I added a pocket, using the book print, and included a pen and, of course, a magnifying glass for Nancy Drew adventures.

I found a nice black in my stash to use for the back, and used FMQ similar to what I did on the inside cover.

What is the clue?

I wanted to have a clue in my project, but did you find it?  I made this notebook cover for my daughter.  She has her own library collection and is working on a Master's in Library Science at the University of IL.

This is my daughter at Christmas.

If you look closely, you can find her name in the magnifying glasses in all 4 yellow triangles.

Her name is Anna.

I had lots of fun doing this project.  Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog!  I hope you will come back.  Now, for a give-away.  I have a Thimbleberries pattern to give away.  It is entitled "Holiday Bouquet". Please leave a comment, be a follower if you like, and make certain that I have your e-mail so that I can notify you.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!  It has certainly contained lots of interesting  mysteries!
